Citizen Journalism, AI Disclosure & Ethics Policy – DWD
Our Commitment to High-Integrity Citizen Journalism:
At DrWeb’s Domain, we recognize that AI is a powerful research and synthesis tool, but it is not an editor, nor perfect, nor without errors. The work follows a Human-in-the-Loop model:
- Human-Led Vision: All editorial themes, historical anchoring, and final arguments are dictated by the human author (DrWeb). Future contributors, co-editors, and others may be part of the review process (goal).
- AI-Assisted Synthesis: We utilize AI (Gemini primarily) for large-scale data gathering, initial drafting, and archival research to bridge the gap between independent blogging and professional newsroom speed. Other AIs may be used in addition, and will be identified in the post, editorial, or article.
- Radical Transparency: DrWeb’s Domain publicly discloses the use of AI in our methodology to ensure readers can trust the provenance of our facts and the integrity of our citations. Many of the more in-depth work include a cited bibliography. And the content offered herein may be shared freely, without credit or links.
